Getting Apple Tiger.......

I am a happy geek today, as I will be receiving a free version to Apple’s latest OS. Yes you heard me a FREE upgrade to Tiger. How did I get this you ask? You have to know someone.

Actually because of my recent iBook purchase which was loaded with the Panther OS. Tiger was just hitting the market at the same time. Apple had an offer to let you upgrade for $9.95. It seems they messed up my order so now I’m getting it free.

I also received several free pieces of hardware with the laptop. You know, free printer, wireless router, USB hub, and extra RAM. There were a couple other things too.

There are some really great deals on computers these days, plus add ons. Do the research you will be surprised what is out there.

Now if the other companies would get me my refunds back, I would be even happier.

Podcasting comes to iTunes 4.9

Apple released the latest version of iTunes 4.9 today. I know what you are saying, oh so what, just another software update. Well this new version lets you download and listen to podcasts. The other cool thing is you can go to the Apple Music Store and there is a list of podcasts.

There are also sites on the web reporting hidden files in the software relating to mobile phones. There have been rumors circulating for months about Apple getting software on a mobile service. It will be interesting to see where they go with this.

If you haven’t checked out this latest version of iTunes, get it.

I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore

I’m tired of lazy, stupid people. You are a waste of space. Get out of my neighborhood! You know the ones I’m talking about, the folks that wait for the beginning of the month to collect that check. Then they go to the local convenience store and buy their beer, cigarettes and lottery tickets.

Now I could care less how you spend the money. That is the least of what bothers me. I’m just sick and tired of picking up your losing lottery tickets, empty 40’s, your ice cream wrappers and cigarette wrappers. My front yard is NOT a landfill. Do you see a dump sign? You even have the balls to do it while I’m standing 20 feet away.

You people suck, you just waste your lives and contribute nothing but waste. Get a job! Do some volunteer work! Help clean up the neighborhood. Make something of yourself.

I have had enough. I’ve been quiet, well not anymore. If I see someone doing it again, they will get an earful from me.

iPod....fad....or .......

I bought my nephew an iPod for graduation, he just finished junior high school. I own one myself and of course I really like it.

It's amazing how quickly they have become so popular. I can't remember an electronics gadget selling this fast. Usually it takes the average person several years before they buy.

Look at the VCR. I think they were on the market for several years before the average person bought one. Now the DVD was a little quicker to popularity. Even the Walkman which was very popular didn't sell as many units as the iPod in a short amount of time.

Why? Is it the ease of use, the price, the coolness factor? I think it's all the above.

Too hot to.........

While on the road I always tell myself that when I get home I will get those projects done. You know those fix it projects. Now usually I’m only around when the weather is colder. I haven’t been home in June in a long time.

Now it’s Friday and I did get a few small things done. I’ve been home about five days. The problem is getting motivated to do the slightly bigger ones. Sure there is no rush, but I am so easily distracted. Besides the temperature is around 90 today. It’s more fun to play on the computer. Why sweat when you don’t have to.

The most important thing I need to do is seal the driveway. I had a new one put in two summers ago and it’s due. However the problem is the cherry tree that hangs over it. Now I have to wait till the birds clean it off.

Looks like I will have until late July to get things done. I should have a better idea what I will be doing as far as touring next week.

Fruit.....it's not just for breakfast anymore

When you travel a lot you see and meet all kinds of people. I find myself doing a lot of people watching.

So the other day I’m eating the complimentary breakfast at the hotel. Now some people will always be a bit overweight. It’s just their genetic make up. Yet there are some who need to watch what they eat.

Face it if you are 100 + lbs over weight you really should lay off the French toast and waffles. You know the fruit they serve is not for decoration.

Wedding

No not mine! I'm not even seeing anyone right now.

Ladies give me a call....hint hint.

I appreciate the fact that people have a good time at a wedding reception. The thing I don't appreciate is the noise you make in your hotel room at 2:30 am when the rest of us are trying to sleep. Being drunk and loud is not fun unless you are that drunk.

So the next time you are in a hotel in this condition. Don't be surprised if a couple of 6' 4" 240lb "roadies" come pounding on your door. Because you don't want that.

My rant

America is fascinated with celebrities. Everyone is talking about Michael Jackson. Yesterday the prosecution failed to find him guilty. As far as I’m concerned he is guilty. OJ was guilty, Martha Stewart was guilty, Robert Blake was guilty, Vince Neil was guilty, and you get the point.

The one’s I mentioned were either found not guilty or got a very light sentence. Why? Because of the fame and the effect that fame has on people. The jurors always say after they had a doubt. They never say they thought the person was actually innocent.

Michael and the Celebes like him know they will walk. They have the money and will get the top attorneys.

Actors, musicians and the like need to remember they are not above the law.

New Jersey......is it needed

Ok...so after all these years it still makes no sense. In the state of New Jersey you cannot make a left hand turn from an intersection. They say it is better to use the 'jug handles", less traffic jams. There still seems to be a lot of traffic maybe even more.

Of course this is the same state that will not let you pump your own gas. What is the state saying about their citizens?

The state of Oregon doesn't let you pump your own gas yet you can make a left turn.

It's giving me a headache.
