Dazed and confused

Is it my imagination or is the majority of the American public becoming space cadets. I ran errands yesterday, you know groceries etc. Nearly every person seemed to be walking around in a daze. What are people thinking about when they shop? Do they even have an idea why they went there in the first place?

Finally something good in the news

So earlier this evening in California a Jet Blue airliner taking off on the way to JFK in NYC had to land at LAX. The story was carried live on most of the cable news networks. As someone who has traveled on hundreds of flights, I have to say the landing was amazing. I was expecting the front landing gear to collapse. The pilot put that plane down like it was just an average landing. To the pilots great job. You can bet there are at least 145 people that think of him or her as a hero.

life...stuck in neutral

I haven't been blogging, well at least posting to the blog.

It's been a strange couple of weeks. The phone rings, the emails come through, the resumes go out. People inquire if I'm available to tour, yet here I sit at home. Ok, its not unusual this is the nature of the music business sometimes.

So I began to look for work locally. Well last week I found a job. Nothing to get too excited about. It's with a consignment company selling items for online auctions. Fairly easy work. Taking photos and some computer work. Just something to pay the bills.

If I can find a job that pays decent and his benefits, then maybe I'll stop touring. This surely isn't it.

I went from tour the country earlier in the summer to working in a store. Yea I know I should be happy I found a job. I just feel like I'm stuck in neutral. You know the feeling that you are not going backward, yet never seeming to get ahead.

At least at this point I can take a few moments to ponder the next move.

See it first hand

I saw this blog link on another blog. These folks are still in New Orleans. They are computer folks, well some of them are at least. They are getting servers up and running. They are posting tons of photos and up to date info every few hours.

Some really amazing stuff going on with these people. I really like what happend when the 82nd airborne came into their secure building. You really need to read it.

I'm not really sure how many of them are working on this. Well four at least but they have others helping.

Insensitive Bitch

There are many blogs that discuss politics, this is not one of them.

However I would like to say that I am not a fan of the Bush family. They come across as insensitive, shallow and out of touch with the common man.

Barbara Bush seems to be the worst of the lot. She made the following comment during a nationally broadcast TV interview discussing the war in Iraq and our soldiers.

"But why should we hear about body bags, and deaths, and how many, what day it's gonna happen, and how many this or what do you suppose? Or, I mean, it's, it's not relevant. So, why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that? And watch him suffer."

Well now she has put her foot in her mouth again. This time talking about the hurricane victims. The audio link is here.

Hey Babs you are starting to make your son look like a genious.

Looking for lost friends and family in the Gulf

I haven't been posting much the last few days. My thoughts have been with my friends in Louisiana. I have heard most of them are safe. I'm still trying to find out about a couple more.

I heard about this site. You type in a phone number and it will tell you someones fate, hopefully. People who want to let folks know they are fine can also add themselves.

Again I urge you to please post this link on your blog and pass it along.

IMPORTANT Link

I have to post this. A friend of mine from NOLA sent this to me. This is some of the best information that I have found if you want to know about damage, especially if you are from New Orleans.

Please pass this along. Put up the link on your blogs and web sites.
