I didn't realize

I posted yesterday about my listening preferences lately. In that post I talked about Alice In Chains.

Turns out today would have been Layne Staley's 39th birthday.

I didn't realize that when I posted yesterday.

If you want to hear what the band sounds like live with the current singer just download this show.

Sullen .....dark side......music.....

I have been in that kind of mood lately. So I guess that my musical listening habits are along the same line.

I have really been into Alice In Chains again. I know the grunge scene has long since died.

I always hated that term. They were and are a metal band!!

If you have not heard they have reformed and are on the road. It's been nearly 5 years since Layne died. His voice was a major part of what made the band's sound unique. Still it's good to see them out playing those songs live again. Besides they didn't tour much the last fews years Layne was alive anyway.

Anyway, my musical taste and Pink Floyd always ends up spinning in the car or on the iPod at some point during the week too. Now there is a reunion that needs to happen and do a full tour. Come on guys the band sounded great last year at Live 8. One final tour would be huge.

Burgers.......I miss California

Burgers you can get them anywhere, anytime. There are great burgers in a lot of different places.

I love a good burger and anytime I'm in California I have to have one at In-N-Out. You 're thinking hey it's just a burger. Well until you have tried one don't judge it.

The reason for my post is not about the burger. It's about the fact that the remaining co-founder of the company has died. Esther Snyder along with her late husband founded the burger chain in 1948.

Hopefully they will continue to do things the same way. Sure I would like to have the chain on the east coast, but I don't think it will be the same if they grow too big.

Some artist's do sell CD's

I have posted about Five For Fighting just recently and the new CD. Some nice news, it debuted on the Billboard album chart at #8. This is the highest that John and the band have ever been first week.

The single also jumped from 86 to 40 on the top 200 singles chart.

Good news for everyone involved. Hopefully a tour will commence soon. My bags will be packed as soon as the call comes. I have some wonderful lighting ideas if we get the budget.

I'm going to burn my resume

I can't believe the amount of bad luck I have had this year. The phone rings or I get an email asking for my resume. I kindly send it over. Usually I get the call back telling me I'm being considered. Then for whatever reason I don't get the job.

Fine it happens.

Week before last I get a response back from a manager that he didn't want to insult me with an offer since he knew he couldn't afford me. WHAT?! Yes that's right, he said looking at my resume he could not afford me.

Hey pal....I will listen to any offer. It's tough out there these days and any tour will pay more than I'm making working at home.

Now the other day a friend of mine referred me for a tour manager position with Ian Gillian. In case you don't know he is the lead singer for Deep Purple. Now I don't always get to work for people who's music I generally listen to. Sometimes yes, but not usually.

Deep Purple were one of the first groups I got into when I was a youngster in the mid 70's. Yep I'm getting old....Oh wait...That would make the guys in Deep Purple......Never mind.

I was really hoping to get the job. I have always wanted to work for them. Now granted it is just the singer, but hey, it would still have been fun. No I didn't get the job. They decided to bring in someone from the DP camp. I can live with that.

Yesterday I looked over the resume to see if I needed to change anything. Nope it's fine.
