Five For Fighting December shows
It's almost December and the time of year when radio stations have their annual holiday concerts. This year is no exception.
John (
Five For Fighting) will be doing some these shows. You can see the dates on his
site.
Most of these shows will be just John and probably Randy (drummer). The whole band will probably be playing the San Diego show.
What this means for me this year is that I will not be doing them. The budget doesn't allow for a lighting director, so John will be lit by someone from the local production company. So if the lighting stinks don't blame me, I had nothing to do with it.
The good news is there will be a new tour in 07, probably at the end of winter/early spring. Now which cities I have no idea. Hopefully it will be a theater tour and we can finally travel with our own production.
In the meantime I will look for other tour work to keep me busy and employed.

Hey fat ass.......no I didn't mean you
For you that celebrated the Thanksgiving holiday, I hope you didn't over eat. I made sure not to eat too much. Having lost about 10 lbs in the last two months.
It's one of the things I love about touring. I always seem to lose weight while I'm on the road.
Al our sound engineer and tour manager is a very talented guy. He does his job very well and is also an excellent musician. Well, he also likes to cook. Now it's hard for him to do on the road. However he did make some guacamole one day from scratch.
This lasted all of about 10 minutes.

Holiday
I spent yesterday at the cemetary for a memorial service for my grandmother. She passed away on Oct 30 while I was on tour. I am sadden by her passing and will miss her. She lived a very long life, turning 100 years old this past July. It will be strange not having her around for dinner today. She always loved the holiday.
Today is Thanksgiving here in the USA. I would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. Hope you have a wonderful time with your friends and family. Try not to eat too much. You need to have something for leftovers. Enjoy.

Five For Fighting St Louis Encore
This is the encore after John had brought down the screen so the crowd could watch the final out of the World Series. I think he has life time fans in St Louis after this.
I have uploaded a video on my MySpace of it too.

Five For Fighting Washington DC
This one was taken at the 9:30 in Washington D.C. You can see our guitar tech who is wearing wings. He did this as a joke one night for the song "Angels and Girlfriends" and he was stuck doing it the rest of the tour.

From coast to coast
I spent most of the day flying from the west coast to the east coast where I live. My schedule is a little screwed up to say the least.
I have posted a few pictures from the tour over the past few weeks.
I now have some time and will be post many more over the next week.
Make sure to check back..........I'm going to bed.
Things come to a halt
Tonight was a show in Seattle with tomorrow in Vancouver to be the last show of this leg of the tour.
John has been fighting a small cold and laryngitis for several days. He has been amazing in his performances hitting the notes and singing his heart out.
Tonight he struggled a bit but got through it. Unfortunately he has nothing left and we are canceling the final show tomorrow. Apologizes to the wonderful folks of Vancouver. John has already posted on his MySpace page and will make it up to you.
So it was kind of a let down that we didn't have the big send off show.
It has been a great tour. Well over half the tour was sold out with most other shows 3/4 full.
The new single should be hitting radio soon and a new video was shot earlier this week. So request it and hopefully John and the band will be hitting the road in early 07.
It's raining again........
Welcome to the great Northwest of the North American continent. November rains and cold are the norm here. We are just 4 days from going home. The tour is winding down. I will miss it. It has been a good tour with a great bunch of guys.
We had an amazing dinner last night, I love seafood.
I'm sitting on the bus right now writing this and realize I don't have much to say. We go on in 45 minutes and I sit here watching Futurama.
I suck

We took this photo during the speech. This is not Photoshop in anyway. Notice where he is looking.
The end is near....
The road is a place that for me in the past has been both fun and stressful. Last year I began to question whether I wanted to continue. I took a few months off and then waited for the next tour opportunity. Offers came in but nothing panned out. I wasn’t worried since I knew Five For Fighting had a new CD on the way. I have always enjoyed working with John. I like his music and respect him as a songwriter and he is a nice guy.
This tour has been the most enjoyable of all the tours I have done with John for many reasons. Unfortunately in a week it will come to an end.
There are a couple of television type performances, which I will not be needed on. So I go home for basically the holidays. Hopefully a new tour will commence in the New Year. John would love to do a theater tour carrying full production. We have discussed some lighting and visual ideas.
Tonight is the big hometown show in Los Angeles. It has been sold out for weeks, which is a first for FFF. Tomorrow John and the guys will shoot a new video for the song “World”.
It’s then on to San Francisco and the Northwest, we have our rain gear ready.
