Superbowl.......are you going?
It's that time again in North America that football fans gather like it's a national holiday. Even many people who don't really watch the game during the season become interested.
That's right it's time for the
Super Bowl. I will not be attending this year in Miami. Oh wait I never attend. After 20 years in the business you would think I would have.
I know people that do and usually every year. Of course they are working one of the many music performances that occur during the weekend event. For me I have not been as lucky to work for anyone who has.
It's ok, I have done many of other fun and interesting places and events. How many of you can say you have been to the
Playboy Mansion? Show of hands....1....2....ok, maybe a couple of you. So you know what I'm talking about.
I did a private event for the John Lennon exhibit at the
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Nothing like rubbing elbows with music legends.
Being that I am working with Five For Fighting again. It would great to do an event at the Stanley Cup this year. John played an event last week in Los Angeles for the Kings.
Luc Robitaille had his number retired and he was there for a party afterwards. It was nice to hear they retired Luc's number, he was a great player. He even played for a season in Pittsburgh for my Penguins.
Getting back to this Sunday. One of these years I might get lucky and attend. So like most of you I will be sitting in front of a television, eating too much and watching the game. Who do I want to win, well I really don't care. I'm a Dolphins fan, but that is another post all by itself.

Renter in the house
I was a bit bored this week so I decided to offer some blog space this week. This week I am renting to
guitar chick. This young lady is trying to learn to play the guitar. I wish her luck I have tried over the years and the best I can do is a couple of bar chords. That is why I run lights and tour manage. Please take a moment to read her blog.
I also have become a member of the advertising on the blog club. If you notice you will see a couple of ads for
Amazon.com. I know I suck, hey I need to make a few extra bucks.
If you would please click on any of them and if it is something you like please purchase. I have bought things from them from time to time. Good deals and quick shipping.

Have passport will travel
As we get into the groove of a new year, 2007 brings us some changes when traveling.
Starting tomorrow
Jan 23 United States citizens will need a passport to travel to Canada or Mexico by airplane. Starting next year, 2008, you will also need one when traveling by land or sea.
In my line of work this is no big deal, since I have had a passport for nearly 20 years. Actually for the average citizen it is a good idea to have one, especially if you travel. Of course now you can't travel without one.
Hopefully those people that only travel occasional will be aware of this.
On a personal level, the touring has slowed down again. This is not unusual coming out of the Christmas holiday season.
I have heard that Five For Fighting should be heading back on the road sometime in March. This was discussed at the end of our tour in November and I spoke to our road manager last week about it.
In case you missed it John and the guys were on the Tonight Show again last week. Peter Thorn who has toured and done some recording with John in the past, played with them. Nice to see him performing with them again. Pete is a very good player and nice guy. We actually see him from time to time while on the road.
Randy who has been the touring drummer since last summer did not play on the show. It was something about the Tonight Show and Canadian musicians and their work visa's. I don't know the details. In case you are wondering that was Jewel's drummer filling in.
The current single "World" is on a radio station near you. Make sure you request it and also vote for the video on
VH1 weekly countdown.
