Tis the season
So the year is nearly over. Where does the time go? Life is going by so fast.
Things are done with Five For Fighting for the remainder of the year. We wrapped up in Reno on Saturday. I was not aware that John had never played there during his career. Let's just say the crowd was great. Sold out show and the guys were swamped at the merchandise table afterwards.
The Chicago show also went very well. FFF closed even though Howie Day and John Mayer were on the bill. Mayer would have been the headliner but he played alone with no band. He was really good.
FFF did these last two shows with out the regular bass player Curt. He was at home with his wife who gave birth to their second child. Congrats to them.
Jeff Allen filled in for these dates and did a great job. Welcome to the camp Jeff.
So not that 2004 was a bad year I looking forward to 2005. Hopefully things with get a bit better not only for me, but in the world in general.
Happy holidays
Chicago
Well I just arrived at the hotel. John was in the van just ahead of me. It's funny since he was picked up nearly 20 minutes before me.
We ran into John Mayer in the hotel lobby. First time I've actually spoke to him. Very nice guy.
So the show is tomorrow. hello Chicago
Sad Day
Sad news today. A shooting last night in Columbus, OH left five people dead, including the shooter.
One of the dead is Dimebag Darrell guitarist for the band Damage Plan and formally Pantera.
My condolences go out to his brother Vinnie and their family. Also to those other families who lost loved ones in this tragedy.
Getting caught up
So earlier this week I spent many, many, many hours traveling from the east coast to California and back. Why you ask? Well it's that time of year when many a musical artist play holiday radio shows and corporate events.
This was one of those events. Five For Fighting had the pleasure of playing for some great folks in San Jose for the Cisco Systems Christmas party. This event was held at the Shark Tank in San Jose. Also known as the HP Pavilion Arena. The night also featured headliners Santana.
It was a really fun time. Thanks to all those involved. Special thanks also to the whole Santana band and crew.
I wish I had taken some photos.
Anyway, next week FFF will be in Chicago and Reno. John will also be performing solo in St Louis.
I hope to get a chance to take some pics this time.
If you are coming to the Chicago or Reno shows. Please stop by the lighting console and say hello.
