You probably remember the nightclub fire in Rhode Island a few years ago. Well the trials have begun and the first sentence is in. The tour manager received 4 years. He could have gotten 15 years.

I have blogged about this before. The guy screwed up. He had no business using pryotechnics without a license and especially in a club. The trial for the club owners is coming up. I hope they get a longer sentence. Pyro or not, you don't use flammable insulation in a club. Too many club owners cut costs. You should see some of the electrical in some of these places.

This is a wake up call to the touring industry. The days of cheap labor and low cost productions need to come to an end. Otherwise the next time it may be even worse.
