I have something to say....
...not really. I just noticed that it's been well over a month since I posted anything here.I spent the whole winter off the road, not unusual really. As spring begins the touring season gets into gear. The feelers and resumes are out there. Nothing has panned out so far.
It's not just me either, there are several people I know with as many years under their belts looking. I take a look at Pollstar and see so many bands touring.
Who is working for these groups? Are that many roadies out there these days? From what I have heard the industry is hiring and paying shit wages again. I'm talking bands who are selling a lot of CD's. They are paying half of what these positions should be getting.
I understand bands have to save where they can. The same thing happened in 1990. At that time it was a direct reflection of the economy in the US at least for tours here.
Of course looking back a lot of the new acts then pretty much sucked and that can be said about a lot of the new bands with "hits" today.
Looks like some real songwriting artists are starting to gain some ground though...maybe 2006 will improve.

You must have interesting stories of touring life? Are they in this blog somewhere? Just curious...

Interesting stories...not really....just kidding. I do but I try to not mention names so it makes them less interesting. Besides I'm saving them for that book I plan to write one of these days.
