Work is work
Things are slowly trickling in again. First, I had a short tour come my way. I mean short, just under a week. Unfortunately I was getting a bit of a run around as far as some details. They kept pushing the salary, you know trying to get it down. My issue was travel to the first so and then home. The tour was not willing to cover much of it, if at all. The daily per diem numbers were never actually confirmed, even though they said they existed. They just kept mention, oh it's an easy run.In the meantime I get a phone call from an old friend who runs a production company near me. He owns sound, lighting, back line and staging. His company has been hired to do a music festival starting this weekend. I was offered a job as a lighting director for one of the stages. It was a no brainer. Four days of music. Two less days of work for more money.
Late today I hear that I am up for a position for a tour that begins in about 10 days. It was offered to someone else but that person may not be able to do it. So yours truly is next in line.
It's not a ton of work but it will cover the bills this month and if the tour pans out I will be good for several months plus.
The big thing, for the time being I will not have to dip into savings and money that I have put away.
